GreenBrook launches Best Ever PowerBreaker range

4th April 2011

GreenBrook, the company behind the market leading PowerBreaker brand, have updated their RCD socket range to offer additional safety features with faster trip speeds and slimline profiles.

Tested to the latest standards, fully certified and ROHS compliant, the new SRCD PowerBreaker range from GreenBrook has been designed to offer enhanced aesthetic appeal, functionality and durability.  All the products in the new range conform to the latest EMC/low voltage directive and trip in typically 20 milliseconds in the event of a surge in current leakage to earth - twice the speed required by BSEN standards.

Explains sales director of GreenBrook, John Bowen: “As the market leader for RCDs, we have a responsibility to keep improving product design and setting the standard for the industry.  As a result, we have looked at the materials, components and construction of our RCD products and asked where we could make them better.  The result is a range of RCDs that sets a new benchmark for trip speeds to enhance safety, offer greater visual appeal, easier installation, improved durability and more convenient operation for the end user.”

The new SRCD PowerBreaker range encompasses single and double sockets (switched and unswitched) and fused spurs, complementing GreenBrook’s wider range of plug, adaptor, in-line and weatherproof (IP55, IP66 and IP67 rated)  PowerBreaker RCDs. All socket and spur units are available in a choice of white or  metal clad; the metal are rust and corrosion-resistant with an updated modern profile and the white units have been redesigned to a higher, contemporary standard to help them appear less intrusive, helping them blend in with existing socket units.  The switches on all switched units have been redesigned to offer easier operation and all the units in the range feature a high intensity LED power on indicator to enhance safety.

GreenBrook has also paid close attention to enhancing ease of installation and all units now feature captive terminal screws and a reduced depth, creating a compact unit that fits easily into a 25mm back box.  In addition, installation of twin socket and spur units has been made easier thanks to the inclusion of double earth terminals and the new PowerBreaker spur units feature an adjustable cable clamp in accordance with the latest BS standard, making them compatible with almost any cable size.

John Bowen adds: “This is our best ever range of PowerBreaker products and we have published a new guide to RCDs to accompany the launch.  With around 24,000 fires per year still caused by electrical faults, we hope that our increased trip speeds and improved design will make a significant contribution to public safety.”
