GreenBrook plays it safe with launch of new alarm systems

2nd February 2011

GreenBrook has launched a comprehensive new range of mains powered smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms, all of which are being offered with a five- year guarantee.

The move follows extensive research and development by GreenBrook and brings the total of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms within the company’s range to five. GreenBrook’s popular battery-operated smoke alarm will continue to be offered by the company, ensuring that customers have the option of either battery or mains powered alarms within the range.  The improved new range also includes a pattress for mains alarms which aids installation on solid surfaces or surface cabling systems and is compatible with all the new GreenBrook alarms.

The Kite marked GreenBrook ASIM ionisation sensor mains smoke alarm has been especially developed to detect fast flaming fires more quickly, making it ideal for environments at risk of flaming fires that are likely to consume combustible materials rapidly and spread quickly.  GreenBrook’s new ASPM mains smoke alarm, meanwhile, incorporates a photo electric sensor which is designed to detect low smouldering fires that can go unnoticed for hours before bursting into flames, such as cigarettes burning in sofas, so it is perfect for domestic applications.

Designed to detect heat rather than smoke, the new GreenBrook AHPM mains heat alarm sounds automatically when room temperature rises above 58°C.  These alarms are designed to be used in combination with smoke alarms and are ideal for environments where a high level of dust or fumes are likely, such as kitchens, garages and basements.

Finally, the range also includes the new GreenBrook ACOM mains carbon monoxide alarm which provides an early warning system if carbon monoxide reaches abnormal levels, potentially saving lives if a gas appliance develops a fault.

All the alarms in the range conform to the relevant British Standard, come with a five-year guarantee and have a three-year alkaline battery back up.  The range has been designed to inter-connect with up to 40 mixed units and all the alarms feature a test/hush button along with a low battery and battery missing detector.

Comments sales director of GreenBrook, John Bowen: “As market leader for RCDs, GreenBrook has led the way in safety products and the launch of these new mains operated smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms sees us building on that reputation.  When it comes to selecting products designed to save lives there can be no compromise on quality, which is why these products have been rigorously tested and are offered with a five year guarantee, whilst providing our customers with the value for money that they expect from GreenBrook.”
