Improve your home automation knowledge courtesy of Scolmore

10th May 2013

As developments in home automation continue so the impact is being felt on wiring accessories with an increase in demand for wireless systems to control the lighting, heating, shutters and more in our homes and business premises.

For those contractors keen to develop the home automation side of their business, NICEIC, in conjunction with Scolmore Group, is currently offering one day training courses that will expand their knowledge of wireless control systems.

The course covers work involving a range of transmitters and receivers. By the end of the day candidates will have gained practical experience of programming and be able to control lights and blinds via a transmitter. They will also be able to identify situations where the iNELS RF control system might be suitable.

Mike Jackson, Sales Manager at NICEIC said: “Home automation is quickly becoming a growing market for electrical contractors and those with the specialist skills to fit and install will be able to take advantage. This course will give contractors the necessary skills and knowledge to recommend solutions to clients in a confident and professional manner.”

In addition the course programme covers: component recognition and design, wiring regulations, lighting and blind controls, RF pilot installation and control, touch installation control, and heating controls explained.

Courses costs just £99 plus VAT and they take place at Scolmore Group’s head office in Tamworth and various locations throughout the UK.  Upon completion of the course candidates will have £50 worth of iNELS’ products to take home.  Contact courses@niceic.com for more information.

Scolmore’s Click iNELS RF system continues to prove a popular choice for both refurbishment and new projects.  Simple and flexible installation, significant energy savings and easy programming are the key attributes of this system, but it is the unique, one-touch centralised control panel (RF Touch) that really sets it apart.  Lighting, heating, appliances, shutters, blinds, gates and garage doors can all be easily adjusted from this one single control panel.

The RF Touch allows users to set daily and weekly programmes for multiple groups of actuators allowing the creation of complex routines that will run whether the home is occupied or empty.  These routines can also be used effectively to save energy around the home, by ensuring devices are switched off when they are not required.
