The LuxLive exhibition has been named Best Trade Launch Show in the Association of Exhibition Organisers’ Excellence Awards 2012
The judge described LuxLive as a ‘really well-thought out show, which delivered in an already crowded sector, with a small but innovative and dynamic team’.
Organised by Lux magazine in association with the Lighting Industry Association, the event brought 3,849 visitors, 90 exhibiting companies and 809 exhibitors to London’s Earls Court over two days.
It was opened by Tom Delay, chief executive of the Carbon Trust, who said he was impressed by the dynamism of the lighting industry.
Event director Ray Molony said: ‘We are delighted to be recognised by the exhibition industry for LuxLive. This award is a tribute to our dedicated team who were determined to exceed the expectations of the industry. Our focus is now on making this year’s event even better.’
This year’s LuxLive is set to be bigger and better. The floorplan for LuxLive 2012, which takes place on 6-7 November, is over 30 per cent bigger than last year, accommodating an extra 50 exhibitors. The show has a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability and will be offering practical advice through a series of talks, live debates and workshops.
‘We’ve been blown away by the success of LuxLive,’ said GE’s UK general manager Mike Barrett. ‘At least 15 per cent of the attendees have been end users such as retail property managers with large real estates. To get so many end users, who are directly impacted by high energy costs right now, I think is great.’
