Marco tipped for new heights

Marco has supplied both steel wire cable tray and Elite uPVC trunking to M&E contractors carrying out installation work at the Shard, the latest major development to feature amongst London’s skyline.

The Shard, which stands at 1,016 feet, is tipped to be the tallest building in Europe. Completed ahead of the London Olympics later this year, it will provide 900,000 square feet of office space, hotel, residential apartments, restaurants and viewing galleries with unparalleled views of south east England.

Designed by world renowned architect Renzo Piano, construction costs alone have totalled £428million. Luke Kellaher of Marco Cable Management said: “Needless to say, we’re thrilled to have our products specified at such an important structure. Our new Elite range has sat incredibly well with the modern, clean, bright white design of the Shard and it’s fantastic to see our product in-situ.

“This specification really highlights how far the business has come in its nine year history.  Today, we are supplying products across the UK to contractors employed at major landmark schemes including this development in the heart of our capital. We have worked hard to ensure our products hold national appeal in terms of functionality, quality and aesthetics and our involvement in this scheme certainly demonstrates this.”
